Vintage Airplane Cake

Recently I was contacted to created a custom diaper cake with a vintage airplane theme. I was thrilled to accept such a unique and fun challenge!

The cake was not only a blast to work on, but it forced me to think outside of the box. Unable to find a topper that I felt suited the cake, I ended up trying out a new skill set and making one myself! I am quite pleased with out it turned out. I hope you guys like it too!

Goodbye 2009, Hello cake pictures!

Happy New Year Everyone!

We hope that 2010 has been good to everyone so far. 2009 was a good year here at The Shoppe; It brought us this new website, new product lines, several new craft shows, and most importantly -- many new friends that we are so grateful for!

We are excited to see what 2010 has in store for us, but for now we wanted to share some of our recent cake creations with you!

The cake in the middle was a particular treat to work on, as it was ordered by a friend for a friend, both of which I used to work with. I enjoy making every cake that passes through our doors, but there is something extra special about working on a cake for a friend. I hope they loved the cake as much as I enjoyed working on it!

More Custom Cakes Uploaded to Flickr...

Hey everyone,

Just finished updating our Flickr gallery with a few of our latest custom cakes.

The cake above was created for a Dallas Children's Advocacy Center silent auction. These cakes are always especially fun to work since they are going towards such wonderful and important causes!

The cake below was a custom order. I especially loved the color scheme I was given to work with.

As always, click the images to visit our Flickr Gallery for additional information on these cakes and more! Or, visit our website, www.curiouscakeshoppe.com, to see our available cakes, upcoming show dates, and information regarding custom orders!

New Fall Products Part I

We wanted to say thanks to everyone who braved the chilly weather to come out to the show this weekend! We had a wonderful time and it was wonderful to meet so many new people!

Also, a big thanks to this little girl who gave us a big smile while she modeled one of our new products:

These new hair accessories were revealed for the first time at the show and were a big hit! These adorable handmade flower clips can be worn alone but look especially cute with a matching headband. The handmade headbands are made of a super soft, stretchy material that makes them the perfect fit for little girls of all ages, infant and up!

Buy them separately or as our Headband Sundaes, which feature 1 headband and 1 flower clip, size and color of your choice!

New products will be appearing on our website over the next couple of months, but in the meantime they are available at all of our shows and can be requested via email online!

The Curious Cake Shoppe is Tagged in This Photo!

They have been a long time coming, but until now we never had the time to get them all sorted out. Which makes me even more excited to announce that we now have Curious Cake Shoppe tags! Yay!

Want to see more? Look for them on all our Made From Scratch blankets!

This cake was a custom order for a very sweet woman looking for a cake for her daughter.

She wanted a yellow, green, and white cake three tier cake. After we had discussed this, I found out she had originally started looking online for a stork themed cake, but was unable to find one. I was so very pleased to have this little stork standing by for just the perfect cake.

Congrats to her and her daughter! I hope the baby shower was a great success!
